Open Question: Can you teach someone if they refuse to learn?
My mother actually asked me to teach her how to use a computer and a digital camera since I work with Electronics a lot and I was like well of course I can teach you everything you need its simple when you get the hang of it. I go to her house and then pick up her camera and show her the power button how to turn it on and then I show her all you do is point and click just like her old film camera. I hand it over to her and she just screams “Thats stupid I can’t do it” I’m patient so I show her everything a couple more times and she still screams at me. I move onto the computer expecting this to take a lot more time because its more complex but after a couple minutes she screams yet again “This is stupid I can’t do it” and then she walks off. I would love to help her out but she just refuses and its getting to the point shes gonna have to use the computer and internet for My dads and Her retirement stuff because they can no longer do what they need in person and they can hardly ever get somebody on the phone they need. I wrote out note cards for everything from how to turn on the computer to how to open up every program she needs so when I left she could use those if she forgot something. My mother is definitely not the brightest person, shes the one that says trees make water and the air never moves, but if shes willing to learn I can help otherwise shes out luck. Is there anyway to get through to someone like this or is it just a lost cause?
I labeled everything on the computer like “USB port” “Power button” and so on with post cards and tape and then wrote out step by step what to do, so I have no idea how I could get anything more simple for her.

Biomechanical strain of goldsmiths.
Work. 2012 Jan 1; 41: 2506-9
Cândido PE, Teixeira JV, Moro AR, Gontijo LA
The work of the goldsmiths consists in the manufacture of jewelry. The piece, be it an earring, bracelet or necklace, is hand-assembled. This task requires precision, skill, kindness and patience. In this work, we make use of tools such as cuticle clippers and rounded tip, beads or precious stones and also pieces of metal. This type of activity requires a biomechanical stress of hands and wrists. In order to quantify the biomechanical stress, we performed a case study to measure the movements performed by an assembly of pieces of jewelry. As method for research, filming was done during assembly of parts to a paste, using a Nikon digital camera, for 1 (one) hour. The film was edited by Kinovea software, and the task was divided into cycles, each cycle corresponds to a complete object. In one cycle, there are four two movements of supination and pronation movements of the forearm. The cycle lasts approximately sixteen seconds, totaling 1800 cycles in eight hours. Despite the effort required of the wrists, the activity shows no complaints from the employees, but this fact does not mischaracterizes the ability of employees to acquire repetitive strain injuries and work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
