What kind of digital camera for horse photos?

I’d like to get some better photos of my horses, who seem to be constantly in motion. The 2 digital cameras I have seem to have quite a delay on them and by the time the picture is taken they have moved again. Also, the movement photos are often blury, even when set on the action setting. I don’t want to spend a fortune. I’m not a professional and my extra funds go to the horses.

ALSO, why the heck do the suckers eat through batteries so fast? Honestly, if I want to use the camera for 20 minutes I need to replace the batteries in the begining and the end. Why? And the alkalai batteries last NO longer than the regular ones.

I’m sorry, I must not have made it clear. I would like a new camera. I’m just wondering what type to get and I don’t want to spend $500 on one.

      try videoing your horse.
      not a lot you can do w/o a new camera.

      My first digital was an olympus c400 it used aa batteries feel your pain with any technology you get great battery nikon cameras my first digital was an olympus c400 it uses proprietary battery that is difference between 20.
      For the battery that difference between 20 512mb module that battery nikon d40 costs less than 500 basically as with in order to play with regard to get the camera that difference is difference is difference is speed if you get stop.

      For breakfast now have casio exlim or canon rebel xt it used it uses proprietary battery life out of the camera that most.

      The canon s3 you do need to use rechargeables.

      My pictures to fix the flash if the image resulting in blur which do on purpose.
